Piklo

Summary

A pickleball tracking and social app for iOS and Android. Built to help players improve, connect, and stay engaged in the sport.

Problem

Pickleball players lack tools to track progress, find playing partners, and build community in one integrated experience.

My role

Sole founder, owning product vision, design, development, and go-to-market execution.

What I did

  • Conceptualized the app in early 2024 and defined the initial product scope.
  • Researched SwiftUI before moving to React Native for cross-platform reach.
  • Designed the full user experience and interface.
  • Built the app and submitted it to the App Store.
  • Created listing copy, resized screenshots, and prepared marketing materials.
  • Built a 50+ person waitlist and planned community growth toward 100+ downloads.
  • Currently fixing App Store rejection feedback.

Outcome / status

Targeting App Store approval by end of May, with a soft launch in June and 25+ active users.

AI Financial Coaching Research

Summary

A research study examining how AI tools affect financial self-efficacy and decision-making. The work bridges fintech practice and academic rigor.

Problem

There is limited academic research on how AI coaching tools influence financial wellness outcomes and user confidence.

My role

Research assistant responsible for designing and structuring core study methodology.

What I did

  • Selected IFDFW and Lown's Financial Self-Efficacy Scale as measurement instruments.
  • Designed study methodology for the UVU Money Success Center.
  • Aligned study design with publication standards for the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning.

Outcome / status

Ongoing, currently in data collection and analysis phase.

Quarterly Client Check-Up SOP

Summary

A standardized workflow for conducting quarterly client reviews at a financial advisory firm. Built to increase consistency and execution quality.

Problem

Amicus Financial Advisors needed a repeatable, documented process for client check-ups across multiple platforms.

My role

Owned end-to-end workflow design and implementation of the SOP system.

What I did

  • Created an HTML-format SOP covering Black Diamond, Schwab, Wealthbox, MoneyGuidePro, Box, and Excel.
  • Documented step-by-step procedures for each platform.
  • Built a companion financial review checklist app for operational consistency.

Outcome / status

Adopted by the advisory team at Amicus.
